Relaxation
During the week, we shall enjoy a quiet day to enable us relax in our beautiful 'home'. In the village where we are staying, there are lots of lovely countryside walks, a village deli and cafe, two beautiful pubs with gardens. There are options to book a spa treatment, or take the train into Oxford to explore at your own leisure. Victoria will ensure that you have plenty of lovely foodie treats at 'home' and walking route maps to assist you on your outdoors adventure, but most of the time she would love to show you the way herself! After dinner, the evenings will mostly be yours to enjoy however you wish, though Victoria has a few special 'quintessentially English' treats on several of our evenings.
Physical Fitness
A moderate level of physical fitness is generally sufficient. Here are some factors to consider: Walking: The tours often include a lot of walking around picturesque villages, gardens, and scenic spots. Comfortable walking shoes are a 'must have' as you might be on your feet for several hours. Terrain: Some areas may have uneven surfaces, cobblestone streets, or slight inclines, but nothing too strenuous. Evenings: Should we decide to go out somewhere 'posh' for dinner, you might want to pack a pair of heels too! Pace: The tours are designed to be leisurely and enjoyable, allowing plenty of time for breaks, tea, and cake. Countryside walks: There will be opportunities to go for a 1.5 hour long country walk at a moderate pace. The vehicle requires you to step up into it and down out of it, so you need to be fit enough to do this a lot! Your bedroom may be up 1 or 2 flights of stairs.
